Welcome back to this weeks Origins post. I appreciate all those who take time to read my blogs and follow me. My goal for this series is to do a total of 8 Origin posts. Once I've completed those I will begin just doing short weekly update style blogs. For this week lets dive right in shall we.
My dad, brother, and I had been living at my grandparents for about 2 or 3 years I believe when my dad met our future stepmom. She was super sweet and always kind to us whenever we would get to see her. The most important thing was Dad was so happy and even at a young age I knew how much that meant. I still remember our first birthday together. My brother's birthday is super close to mine so when we were younger we always celebrated it together.
Dad took us to our future stepmom's apartment where she had decorated the whole place for our birthday. It was all scooby doo decor and even a scooby doo cake. Now I was and still is one of the biggest scooby fans. It was so awesome. Afterwards the four of use went outside to this kinda back yard and hill by the apartment and had this huge water gun fight with these little toy water guns dad and her had bought. We all laughed and ran around for what felt like hours. I still hold that as one of my favorite childhood memories.
It wasn't long before Dad and her got married at a little church down in the countryside where dad preached. I love my stepmom she has always treated us kids and dad so well and loved us like we were her own. We don't even use the term step kids or stepparent when describing one another cause we are all so close, We call her mom and she calls us kids. I truly believe our first mom is so proud and happy for her too. Sometimes I thought our first mom sent her to our family to help watch over us and Dad.
To this day she is still always there for me whether its an emotional heart to heart, or I'm texting her for a recipe. After a few years of living in an apartment together, Dad got an offer to move down to the countryside in the mance beside the church at which he preached. This would be the next big chapters in my life and will be continued in next weeks Origins post.
